RESERVE, LOUISIANA – After 23 years of dedicated service, Troy Redwine, a respected leader in hydraulic assembly at DSC Dredge, officially retired on June 6th, 2025. Redwine’s career is marked by his hands-on leadership, and a deep commitment to craftsmanship; values that have helped shape DSC’s hydraulic systems and team.
Troy began his journey with DSC in 2002, joining the company as a hydraulic technician. Over time, he rose to the position of foreman and became instrumental in transforming the company’s hydraulic practices. Reflecting on his time, Redwine said, “The way we assemble, flush lines, and check torque, it’s all come a long way. Everything is better.”
Originally from another dredging company, Troy was drawn to DSC due to its proximity and the opportunity it presented to remain close to his daughters while continuing his career. What started as a practical decision grew into a lasting professional home. “DSC’s been good to me over the years,” he shared.
One of the aspects Troy valued most in his time at DSC was the opportunity to travel and see the dredges he helped build come to life in the field. “There’s something about seeing it work. Not just building it, but seeing it in action,” he said.
Redwine also credits his colleagues and leadership at DSC for making a lasting impact. “I’ve always appreciated working for a company where the owners are on-site and accessible,” he said. “And I’ve worked with Nick all these years, we’ve come a long way together.”
Known for his hands-on mentorship, Troy’s parting advice to the next generation is simple but powerful: “Build it like it’s yours. If you don’t like it or wouldn’t buy it, don’t expect the customer to.”
When asked how he hopes to be remembered, Redwine replied, “Just a good ol’ boy. I treated everyone right, and I got the job done.”
As for what’s next? Retirement will be filled with fishing, camping, and quality time with his grandchildren. “I just want to make the best of it,” he said with a smile.
“Troy has been a steady, reliable presence at DSC. His knowledge of hydraulics and commitment to doing things the right way made him a role model on the floor,” said Nicky Giarratano, VP of Manufacturing. “It’s rare to find someone with both technical skill and the heart to lead by example, Troy had both, and he will be missed.”
“Troy’s dedication and work ethic have left a lasting impression on this company,” added Bob Wetta, President & CEO of DSC Dredge. “We’re grateful for his years of service and wish him a retirement full of the joy and peace he’s more than earned.”
