RESERVE, LA – On the first evening of the National Stone & Gravel Association (NSSGA) 2023 Annual Convention – March 12th, the Manufacturing & Services (M&S) Division announced their 2023 Executive Chairman Chair at their annual dinner. At this auspicious occasion which was attended by the M&S Board, Executive Committee members, as well as past Chairs, the outgoing Chair Josh Swank of Philippi-Hagenbuch handed off the gavel to Charlie Johnson, Director of Domestic Dredge Sales for DSC Dredge. The M&S division also appointed Mark Krause of McLanahan Corporation as the M&S Vice Chair. Charlie was formally voted into the NSSGA Leadership during the Annual Membership and Board of Directors Meeting on Tuesday, March 14th.
At the end of the event, NSSGA asked Charlie for a comment and he stated, “I am thrilled to be taking on this role and want to thank Josh and the past Chairmen for their steadfast leadership of the division. I look forward to working with the NSSGA M&S members to continue developing our membership numbers and increase relationships across the industry.”
Commenting on Charlie’s new appointment, President and CEO of DSC Dredge, Bob Wetta, said, “I congratulate Charlie for his induction as the M&S Chairman and it is a well-deserved honor for him. Charlie is not only a dedicated employee to DSC, but he is an ambassador for the dredging industry with a heavy focus on aggregates. Johnson has a successful track record of providing vision and leadership to several projects and boards over the years. In 2015 served as President of the Western Dredging Association’s Gulf Coast Chapter.
