FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Rising Talent Amongst DSC Dredge’s Inner Ranks: New HR and HSE Leadership Appointed

RESERVE, LOUISIANA – DSC Dredge is excited to announce the following internal promotions into managerial positions; April Johnson, Human Resources Manager; Michael Dickerson and Jeremy Clausen, HSE Assistant Manager.

April Johnson joined DSC at its Poplarville facility in 2011 where she started as an Office Assistant but quickly transitioned into the role of Office Manager. Over the next decade, she slowly took on more responsibility, always willing to help where needed. This led her to getting involved with various HR activities and training events. In 2020, April Johnson stepped into the full-time role of HR Administrator, supporting all three of DSC’s facilities – Reserve, La, Poplarville, Ms, and Greenbush, MI. “Over the past 12 months, April has shown great leadership and while it has proven a challenge for everyone to continue navigating this global pandemic, April rose to the challenge and did a terrific job by supporting team members and their families while also vigilantly monitoring local, state and federal laws. We are confident April will continue to excel in this position, providing ongoing value and support to our entire DSC team,” stated Christina Bolling, VP and Chief Administrative Officer.

In 2012, Michael “Mike” Dickerson started his career as a tool room attendant at DSC’s Poplarville facility and in less than a year was promoted to Shipping and Receiving Coordinator. For the next six years he continued as the shipping and receiving coordinator with increased leadership responsibilities such as supervising various operational teams and helping to shift the safety culture of this manufacturing facility. In 2018, he was promoted to Operations Supervisor/Site Safety Coordinator. His diverse training, certification and commitment to safety will surely continue to improve DSC safety strategies and procedures.

“Over the last 9 years I’ve been able to gain valuable knowledge of DSC’s manufacturing process, procedures, and safety policies while also having a part in the growth and development of DSC’s Safety Culture. I’m excited about working with all DSC team members to continue meeting our customer needs, while growing our “Safety First” mentality and continue providing a safe work environment”, stated Mike.

Jeremy Clausen, joined DSC’s Reserve facility in 2006 as a 3rd class hydraulic technician and in a short time transitioned into the role of Millwright. Between 2015 to present, he worked in various operational roles including that of Safety Coordinator for the Reserve office. Over the years, Jeremy has always demonstrated his commitment to safety from ensuring company procedures and guidelines are complied with to keeping up with inspections; he has always risen to the challenge. Nicky Giarratano, VP of Manufacturing stated, “we are confident that Jeremy’s leadership presence and expertise will deliver the alliance we need to continue making the right strides toward safety excellence at DSC”.

According to Jeremy “my focus and goal for the company is to stop accidents/incidents from happening, guide team member on the right way into safety, and train them on how to look for hazards before they occur”.

DSC owners, Bob and Bill Wetta, agreed, “Being able to promote from within is always a great feeling, it shows what a great job our existing leadership team has done in developing and training their staff for ongoing success and increased growth both for them and for DSC.”
