About This Position

We are seeking a detailed oriented designer to help bring complex engineering concepts to life through detailed structural, machinery and piping designs. Working with AutoCAD and Inventor, you’ll create 2D and 3D models that support the manufacturing of industry leading dredging equipment used around the globe. Position Responsibilities
Major Responsibilities:
- Utilizes AutoCAD and Inventor drafting software to design and develop infrastructure layouts and diagrams from initial concept to final design.
- Develops and reviews mechanical designs with Engineers and provide equipment drawings of schematics for the purpose of manufacturing.
- Models structural, piping, machinery, and outfitting components in 2D and 3D modeling spaces. Produces fabrication and arrangement drawings for the modeled design.
- Works with Engineers to implement the design and ensure proper operation of final assembly.
- Communicates and resolves design issues with the Engineers, Production team, Field Service Technicians and third party vendors.
- Works with project team to develop project scope and costing, obtaining input from third parties such as component vendors, utilities, construction contractors, and permitting authorities.
- Maintains current inventory of drawings and specifications for individual components and assembly drawings.
- Collaborates with engineers, customers, and contractors to support installation, operation, and maintenance of systems.
- Uses computer-aided drafting equipment, technical handbooks, tables, and other tools to create to-scale drawings of newly designed equipment.
- Interprets and ensures conformance to applicable standards and codes, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Reviews completed construction drawings and cost estimates for accuracy and conformity to standards and regulations.
- Explains drawings to production teams and provide adjustments as necessary.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Exhibits strong multi-tasking skill-set to support simultaneous on-going Engineering and company projects.
- Maintain flexibility to provide additional support as requested or required bases on individual project needs.
- Work independently with minimal direct supervision. Perform other duties as assigned.

- Working knowledge of AutoCad and Inventor (preferred).

- Willingness to travel as required (both domestic and international travel).

- Ability to take direction from multiple leaders and shift priorities on an as-needed basis.
- Scheduled flexibility is required. While this position will typically work Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm, there will be times that work will be required afterhours or on weekends to support project needs.
- Must be able to pass all pre-employment testing (drug test and physical) in addition to random drug and alcohol testing.
