About This Position

As our Millwright Foreman, you won’t be sitting behind a desk—you’ll be in the midst of it, leading a skilled team, solving complex mechanical problems, and working hands-on with some of the most prominent dredging machinery in the industry.
You’ll oversee precision alignments, hydraulic system installations, pump assemblies, and everything in between. Position Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate millwright crews in the installation, alignment, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment
- Interpret and work from machinist drawings, technical schematics, and layout plans
- Perform precise mechanical alignments for rotating equipment, motors, pumps, and gearboxes
- Oversee and troubleshoot hydraulic systems, fluid power components, and PVG valves
- Monitor and maintain the performance of pumps, motors, and other dredge-related mechanical systems
- Ensure all work is performed to safety and operational standards, complying with DSC and regulatory guidelines
- Utilize knowledge of fluid dynamics, pressure systems, and equipment tolerances for optimal efficiency
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and hands-on support to team members to maintain high productivity and workmanship
- Conduct preventative maintenance planning and respond to emergency repair needs on-site
- Communicate job status updates to project managers and coordinate effectively with engineering and operations teams
Minimum Requirements
- Knowledge in the use of job related testing and alignment instruments such as, dial indicators, filler gages, calipers, etc.
- Knowledge of fluid mechanics (hydraulics and pneumatics), and all of the components involved in these processes, such as valves, cylinders, pumps and compressors
- Comprehensive knowledge of rigging and handling heavy loads with cranes and forklifts
- Job related knowledge of dredge, dredge equipment and dredge construction
- Own a complete set of mechanic tools, to include required hand and pneumatic tools to work on large construction type equipment as well as tools to repair smaller type automotive vehicles, include tools up to and including ½” drive
